Excited to see Perry County`s America250PA Bell unveiled this week as part of the #BellsAcrossPa project!
Perry County`s bell, designed by artist Jessica Burkholder, is stunning! She`s given it the title "Pursuing Happiness" and says is represents what people love about Perry County. Stop by and check it out in person at the Perry County Economic Development Authority & Perry County Chamber of Commerce.
The Bells Across PA project highlights the role our commonwealth had on the nation`s founding and the role Pennsylvanians have on its past, present, and future. By the time we officially celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country`s founding next year, each of PA`s 67 counties is expected to have an original bell that features unique landmarks, nature, culture, and contributions to the commonwealth.

Today, we officially celebrated the @usmarinecorps 250th Birthday at the Pennsylvania State Capitol.
Enlisting in the Marine Corps was the best decision; becoming a Marine, the hardest; and serving, the most important thing I have done in my life.
Ronald Reagan once said, "Some people go through life wondering if they have a purpose. Marines don’t have that problem."
Happy 250th birthday — and here’s to another 250 years of fighting America’s enemies.
Thank you, @senatordevlinrobinson for hosting. Semper Fi! 🇺🇸
It was an honor to host the Carlisle Cannons at the Capitol today, in recognition of their history-making 2025 U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup victory! The Cannons are the Carlisle Family YMCA Youth Soccer program’s U18 girls team; they`re the first national champions from the program and its first National Presidents Cup qualifiers since 2014.
We couldn’t be more proud of their teamwork, their accomplishments, and the way they represented our area on the national stage. Congratulations again to all of the athletes, coaches, and families! @carlisleborough
What a tremendous honor it was to spend the morning with veterans, Gold Star Mothers, and military families from the district, during our Annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast. 🇺🇸 The camaraderie was incredible. Thanks to everyone who attended and all who helped to support the event through the donation of time and talent.
Welcome to @cumberlandcountypa, @costco!
I was glad to participate in this morning’s ribbon cutting. The excitement from our community was undeniable, as residents were lined up before 6:30 a.m. to be the first ones in.
Of course, @repkutz and I had to grab a legendary Kirkland hotdog for breakfast! 🌭
It was great to connect with Cumberland Valley School District
Winding Creek Elementary students, who were visiting the #PACapitol today! I hope they enjoyed our discussion and their tour. It`s been a busy day with lots to see and do.
Please join me in congratulating my constituents, 10-year-old Daon Kim and 8-year-old Sion Kim who each won silver medals at the 2025 U.S. National Taekwondo Championships!
They train at JK Taekwondo Academy Lemoyne PA and are working toward their goals of representing the U.S. on the National Team, competing on the world stage.
They`re pictured here with two other national medalists from JKTA who are constituents of Senator Dawn Keefer. We were glad to welcome them as our guests this week and recognize their achievements before the #PASenate. I can`t wait to see what the future holds for them!
Newville Borough was the place to be last night! I was honored to walk in the Halloween Parade with The Marine Corps League Lewis B. Puller Jr. Detachment 524. I appreciated Jessica`s bagpiping and was glad to catch the Big Spring School District high school marching band, too. They sounded incredible! Thanks to the Newville Historical Society and all involved with planning and hosting the parade.
Thoroughly enjoyed meeting with Moriah Conley, reigning Cumberland Ag Expo Queen, today! She`s in her junior year of high school and is active in the Cumberland County 4-H Horse and Pony Club. She stays busy volunteering, doing barn chores, trail riding her horse, skiing, and working for a local fruit farmer. She`s hardworking, impressive and represents our area and agriculture very well!
This morning, PA Treasurer Stacy Garrity met with members of both the #PAHouse and #PASenate to discuss the good work her office is doing on behalf of the people of Pennsylvania. What an honor it was to officially dedicate the Sgt Patrick Hawkins Memorial Bridge today in North Middleton Twp, Cumberland County, PA. The bridge, located on Spring Road, spans the Conodoguinet and stands as a visual reminder of Patrick`s life, heroism, and sacrifice.
Patrick was truly exceptional. He was brave, faithful, committed, strong, smart, and selfless, according to all who knew him. A member of the elite 75th Ranger Regiment, he embodied the Ranger Creed. Rangers lead the way!
The packed house today at North Middleton Fire Company was a testament to his enduring legacy. It was heartwarming to see the community come out and show such tremendous support of the Hawkins family and touching to hear LTC Roy Hawkins describe how the community has sustained them and provided encouragement through the years.
Thanks to all who made today`s ceremony possible: The Hawkins Family, the North Middleton Fire Company, the Keystone State Challenge Academy, the Carlisle Area School District High School Chamber Singers, Chaplain Hudson of the U.S. Army War College Memorial Chapel, PA State Rep. Barb Gleim, and the North Middleton Twp. Supervisors.
Had a great time stocking pheasants with the Pennsylvania Game Commission today, at State Game Land 230 in North Middleton Twp. The agency anticipates releasing between 215,000 and 220,000 pheasants statewide in preparation for youth season (Oct. 11-18), the general season (Oct. 25-Nov. 28), and the late season (Dec. 15-24 and Dec. 26-Feb. 28).
