The fun continues at the @gratzfair! Today’s highlights include catching up with Fair Queen Jovi Ramsey, taking in the phenomenal high school band performances and joining Rep. Scott Perry and PA State Rep. Joe Kerwin for a delicious Lykens Valley Bison burger! 🍔
There’s still time to get to the fair! While tomorrow (Saturday, 9/19) is the final day, there’s a full schedule of events, including wood carving, tractor pulls, midway rides, the demolition derby, and live music throughout the day! Check out https://gratzfair.net for all of the details.
Thanks to the Pennsylvania Auditor General, Tim DeFoor and his team for providing valuable information to our volunteer fire relief associations! I was glad to welcome them, Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner, and representatives from relief associations across the district to Hampden Township Volunteer FD last night. Every presenter shared helpful information and resources that will help enable them to effectively and efficiently manage the state funds they receive, so that they can remain mission focused. Thanks to ALL involved in supporting our incredible volunteer fire companies!
Constitution Day, celebrated each September 17, commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. 🇺🇸
Glad to join PA State Rep. Perry Stambaugh and representatives from Perry County Chapter, NSDAR and @washingtonburgPSSAR for a ceremonial signing of a Constitution Day Proclamation! The proclamation reaffirms our commitment to Constitutional principles.
The Salute to Service ceremony at @cumberlandvalleysd`s high school stadium last Friday night was absolutely incredible!
Thank you, CV, for giving my family and I the opportunity to celebrate with you and honor those who have bravely and selflessly served our nation. We will never forget! 🇺🇸
Highmark Wholecare is hosting a FREE Farmer’s Market today at Upper Dauphin Area Middle School until 5 p.m. Come get fresh produce for your family and help us spread the word!
Kicking off the great Gratz Fair with the opening ceremony and 2026 Gratz Fair Queen contest!
The sun is shining! Come out and support this wonderful Northern Dauphin tradition, which has been supporting and celebrating agriculture and ag mentorship since 1873.
I hope to see you there!
It was an honor to be with friends today at the West Shore-Harrisburg Elks Lodge 9/11 event. We gathered to remember the lives lost and to honor the heroes who answered the call to serve our nation after unimaginable tragedy.
Col. Paul Abel, U.S. Army (Ret.), who was at the Pentagon on 9/11, delivered a powerful keynote address.
May we #NeverForget! 🇺🇸
Tomorrow marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
When I think back to that day, I remember the anger, the sadness, and the shock — but I also remember the resolve of the American people coming together.
As we reflect on the tragic loss of nearly 3,000 lives and the countless others impacted in the years since, let us come together as a nation in unity, thanking God for the brave men and women who have defended freedom both here and around the world.🗽
Thank you, New Bloomfield Elementary, for giving me the opportunity to visit with your fifth graders today. They were bright, engaging and impressive!
I appreciated the chance to share with them about my job as their state Senator and how the work I do impacts students like them.
Thank you, also, to the administrators, teachers, and board members who took the time to talk with me about the current needs of the district. The work they do is so important! These kids are our future.
Congratulations to Cumberland County’s newest Eagle Scout, Angelo “AJ” Drawbaugh of Troop 180!
For his #EagleScout community service project, AJ constructed a playground, laid mulch, cleaned the surrounding area, power washed the fence and installed a picnic table and outdoor chalkboard for @lcbcchurch West Shore.
Thank you for inviting me to be part of your ceremony and celebration!
Congratulations to @goodwillkeystonearea on the grand opening of its new Carlisle store and donation center!
Beyond offering affordable finds, every purchase at the new location will support #jobtraining and employment services in our community.
Goodwill has a long legacy of helping people facing barriers to employment build skills, secure jobs, and grow their careers, and that work truly matters.
A job is more than just a paycheck. It’s a chance to grow, contribute, and find purpose.
Kudos to the entire Carlisle store team on an exciting and successful opening!
@co40ems, through its EMS academy, is doing remarkable work preparing the next generation of emergency medical professionals. The need is real: since 2012, Pennsylvania has seen a loss of more than 6,000 EMTs and 4,000 paramedics.
But today brings good news and real momentum in solving this crisis. Carlisle EMS Academy has officially launched Rescue Ready, a workforce development program that I was proud to support with state funding.
Rescue Ready will strengthen emergency care in our community and help address the ongoing EMS staffing shortage for years to come. Through Rescue Ready, at least ten current providers will advance their training, and fifteen new community members will earn their EMT certification at NO COST.
