Rothman Announces $1.3 Million for Sewer Improvements, Community Projects

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Greg Rothman (R-34) today announced the approval of $1.3 million in state assistance for sewer improvements in Cumberland County.

The following projects were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority:

Wormleysburg Borough: $250,000

The funds will help pay for repairs of the sanitary sewer system along South Front Street in Wormleysburg.

Borough of Carlisle: $520,000

The grant will be used for the rehabilitation of Regional Sanitary Sewer System pipes near the Ridge Street Wastewater Pumping Station in Carlisle.

 Newburg-Hopewell Joint Authority: $420,750

The funds will help pay for the televising and rehabilitation of sewer mains in Newburg Borough.

“Cumberland County is the fastest growing county in Pennsylvania. With that growth comes a greater demand for facilities, infrastructure and utilities,” Rothman said. “I am glad to bring these state grant dollars back to the community where they will make a positive difference for residents.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development.
