Rothman Announces Property Tax/Rent Rebate Assistance

HARRISBURG – State Sen. Greg Rothman (R-34) announced that his offices will be providing assistance to Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate applicants. The program serves income-eligible older adults and people with disabilities by issuing rebates up to $1,000.

“We’d be honored to help residents of Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties prepare and file Property Tax and Rent Rebate applications,” said Rothman.  “Our offices are here to answer questions about this or any other state program, and ultimately to make state government more accessible. We are here to serve.”

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is open to state residents who are age 65 or older, are widows and widowers age 50 or older, or anyone age 18 and older who is 100% disabled, with household income of $45,000 or less, counting only half of Social Security. It is important to note that the program’s allowable income increased this year, making more residents eligible.  Rebate amounts are calculated based on applicants’ 2023 income and the amount of property tax or rent paid in 2023, with rebates ranging from $380 to $1,000.  More information is available at: revenue.pa.gov

Application assistance and electronic filing are available in Senator Rothman’s district offices:

  • Shippensburg: 81 Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg, 717-844-5441
  • Silver Spring: 4 Flowers Drive, Suite 3, Mechanicsburg, 717-283-4200
